Trump Sycophant Threatens $1 Million Lawsuit Against Jazz Musician For Not Wanting To Play At ‘Trump Kennedy Center’
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Richard Grenell, a Trump loyalist placed in charge of the newly renamed ‘Trump Kennedy Center,’ escalated a minor artistic disagreement into a seven-figure legal threat Friday after a jazz musician declined to perform a free Christmas Eve concert in protest of President Trump’s name being added to the venue.
The musician, Chuck Redd, has hosted the annual holiday jazz jam for nearly two decades, but canceled this year after Trump’s handpicked board voted to rebrand the Kennedy Center—apparently unaware that opting out now carries a potential $1 million penalty.
In a blistering letter, Grenell accused Redd of “intolerance, political grandstanding, and inflicting severe financial damage on the institution,” by not showing up to play an event that audiences have historically paid nothing to attend.
“This decision caused real harm,” Grenell warned, implying that the absence of complimentary Christmas jazz somehow translated into losses typically associated with major corporate fraud or industrial sabotage.
Grenell went on to praise Trump’s “extraordinary leadership” as chairman of the Kennedy Center, while scolding Redd for failing to quietly accept Trump’s name and continue performing festive saxophone riffs as usual.
Grenell later clarified that artists remain free to boycott the Trump Kennedy Center at any time, provided they understand that freedom may cost approximately one million dollars.
