Trump Vetoes Clean Drinking Water for Colorado, Citing “A Lot of Very Bad Behavior”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump vetoed a bipartisan bill this week that would have funded clean drinking water for Colorado, explaining that the state had recently engaged in “a lot of very bad behavior” and therefore did not deserve hydration at this time.

White House officials clarified that while the bill passed unanimously and addressed groundwater contamination that occasionally releases radioactivity, Trump felt Colorado needed to “reflect on what it’s done” before being trusted with basic utilities.

Sources familiar with the decision said the president was particularly upset that Colorado has continued imprisoning his ally Tina Peters, despite his earlier attempt to pardon her for tampering with voting machines. When informed that state crimes are not covered by presidential pardons, Trump reportedly said, “We’ll see about that.”

The veto also follows visible tension with Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert, who recently supported the release of the Epstein files and has since been described by administration insiders as “forgetting who she works with.”

In his veto letter, Trump insisted the bill represented “wasteful spending,” adding that Americans must learn the difference between needs and privileges. “Clean water is something Colorado may want,” the president wrote, “but respect comes first.”

At press time, Colorado residents were advised to “think about their choices” while waiting for permission to drink safely again.
