Trump Supporters Confident Tariffs Will Lower Prices Once Media Stops Reporting Prices

UNITED STATES — As Trump’s sweeping new tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China threaten to spike prices on everything from breast pumps to bananas, MAGA voters are standing firm in their belief that the laws of economics are part of a deep-state psyop.

“Every time I turn on the TV, it’s some so-called expert saying prices are going up,” said Carl Duggan of Ohio, while angrily paying $46.50 for a blender made in Shanghai. “Maybe if these ‘experts’ stopped predicting inflation, we wouldn’t have it.”

The tariffs—25% on Canadian and Mexican goods and 10% on Chinese products—are expected to cost the average American household up to $1,200 a year. But Trump supporters aren’t sweating it.

“My monthly ice cream bill went up, and I can’t afford Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey anymore,” noted Lisa Rawlins of St. Louis. “But that’s just short-term pain for long-term winning. Like childbirth, but for capitalism.”

Gregory Daco, chief economist at EY-Parthenon, sighed during a press call on the issue. “These tariffs will raise inflation, hurt small businesses, and shrink the economy. It’s Econ 101. You cannot tariff your way to lower prices.”

Back in Florida, retiree Eileen Marks wasn’t worried. “Sure, my heart meds went up a little,” she said. “But tariffs are like Jesus—you just gotta believe first.”
