MTG Hosts Town Hall, Declares It a Success After Most of Town Removed from Hall
COBB COUNTY — Marjorie Taylor Greene held a town hall Tuesday that she called “a success,” despite the majority of attendees being dragged out by police, tased, or otherwise processed like unwanted spam emails.
“What we saw tonight was democracy in action,” Greene said, referring to the repeated removal of constituents who asked questions about Medicaid, fascism, and the logic of pardoning violent insurrectionists. “Of course, not everyone deserves democracy. Some people need a little correction first.”
“This isn’t a protest or a debate,” Greene told the dwindling audience. “This is a town hall. Which means you sit silently while I talk, and then you clap at the end.”
When asked why so many people were ejected—and some tased—Greene invoked the administration’s favorite buzzphrase: “We’re just removing waste, fraud, and abuse,” she said. “And tonight, the abuse was coming from Karen in row three.”
By the end of the evening, only a handful of silent supporters remained. Greene called it “the most productive conversation I’ve ever had with my district,” and promised to hold more just like it—preferably in undisclosed locations with reinforced doors and a taser sponsorship.
