Trump Officials Rage at Questions About Abrego Garcia: “Why Can’t You Just Thank Us for Deporting Him?”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Trump administration lashed out at reporters Monday for daring to ask about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Salvadoran father wrongly deported in April.

“Why can’t you just say, ‘Thank you for deporting him?’” Trump snapped at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during an Oval Office exchange, calling the network “fake, disgusting, and unpatriotic” for pursuing basic facts about the case.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt doubled down, calling questions over the deportation “despicable” and portraying Abrego Garcia—who has no confirmed gang ties—as “an illegal alien MS-13 terrorist who tricked Americans into thinking he was a good dad.”

When asked why the administration previously labeled the deportation an “administrative error,” Leavitt clarified: “The only mistake here was calling it a mistake. And frankly, the official who said that was also a mistake.”

Officials say Abrego Garcia will remain imprisoned in El Salvador. Meanwhile, the administration continues investigating why anyone is still talking about him instead of thanking the president for “keeping criminals out of our country.”
