Nebraska GOP Rep Booed for 90 Straight Minutes, Sets New Town Hall Record
LINCOLN — Congressman Mike Flood made history Monday night, as 750 Nebraskans sustained an unbroken wall of boos for 90 minutes while he attempted to sell Trump’s ‘Big Brutal Bill’ as “a gift to hardworking families.”
Eyewitnesses say the booing began the instant Flood uttered the phrase “middle-class benefits” and never stopped, eventually harmonizing into a four-part “Boo Fugue” that local radio stations are considering releasing as a live album. By the hour mark, a group of children reportedly started charging $5 for “boo breaks,” handing out Gatorade to exhausted hecklers.
Witnesses say Flood continued smiling nervously while scrolling through his PowerPoint slides, each one simply reading “TRUST ME” in larger font. At one point, he tried to win over the crowd by handing out “Mike Flood 2026” bumper stickers, which were immediately set on fire.
Despite the chaos, Flood declared the event a “constructive dialogue,” noting the booing “proved democracy is alive and well, even if it’s extremely loud and smells faintly of Busch Light.”
State officials confirmed the 90-minute booing streak shattered Nebraska’s previous record of 64 minutes, held by a mayor who tried banning ranch dressing in 1998.
