Critically Ill Children Denied U.S. Care After Laura Loomer Gets Mad Online

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Trump administration has frozen visas for patients from Gaza after conservative activist Laura Loomer posted videos of children arriving in the U.S. for emergency medical care, declaring them a “national security threat.”

The State Department insisted the move was unrelated to Loomer’s post, even though it came less than 24 hours later. “This was a careful, independent review,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “It just happened to line up perfectly with a viral rant from a woman whose policy experience is mostly Twitter.”

Critics called the suspension heartless, noting the program was designed for children needing urgent surgeries unavailable in Gaza. “We’ve reached the point where a single influencer’s outrage outweighs basic medical ethics,” one humanitarian worker said.

Trump also denied Loomer’s direct influence, but couldn’t resist a compliment: “Look, we make decisions based on many, many factors—not just one post,” he said. “But I will say Laura has tremendous energy, tremendous instincts. She’s very brave, very loud, and when she points something out, people listen.”

Officials insisted the decision had nothing to do with Loomer, even as they admitted they were “monitoring her feed closely” for upcoming policy priorities.

“There were just a small number of children coming here for emergency treatment,” Rubio admitted. “But if Laura says it’s dangerous, well, who are we to argue with her comments section?”
