Pardoned Jan. 6 “Freedom Fighter” Arrested After Texting Plan to Kill Hakeem Jeffries
NEW YORK — A Trump-pardoned “freedom fighter” was arrested this week after texting a plan to assassinate Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries—a development that complicates the right’s whole “the left are the violent ones” talking point.
Christoper Moynihan, who’d already served time for storming the Capitol, was among the hundreds Trump hailed as “political prisoners.” Within months of his release, he turned patriotic fervor into premeditated homicide, sending messages about “eliminating” Jeffries ahead of a speech in New York.
Right-wing media quickly responded, calling the arrest “a deep-state setup” and reminding viewers that the real threat remains “college students with cardboard signs.” Meanwhile, seven million peaceful protesters marched nationwide last weekend, somehow managing not to text anyone a death threat.
When reached for comment, Trump praised his pardoned supporter as “a passionate man who loves his country—maybe a little too much… we’ll see how it goes in court.”
