Theo Von Shocked To Learn MAGA Not Actually About Free Speech or Friendship
NASHVILLE — Comedian and podcaster Theo Von admitted this week that he’s “genuinely surprised” to learn the MAGA movement was never really about “free speech or friendship,” describing the realization as “kinda like finding out your cool uncle runs an ICE facility.”
“I thought we were just doing, like, anti-woke karaoke,” Von explained. “Then I saw my face in a DHS deportation hype video and realized—oh man, I think we’re the bad guys.”
Other members of the podcasting brotherhood have also started distancing themselves. Joe Rogan called the administration’s immigration videos “fucking crazy,” while Andrew Schulz and the Flagrant crew expressed shock that Trump’s “free speech crusade” apparently includes silencing comedians who make fun of him.
Still, the podcasters insist they haven’t abandoned their principles. “We’ll always stand for freedom,” Schulz clarified, “as long as it doesn’t cost us sponsors or gym memberships.”
Trump reportedly shrugged off the backlash, telling aides that “podcasters are just AM radio hosts with better haircuts—mostly losers with microphones.”
