Trump Declares VOA “Radical,” Demands All Foreign News Be Approved by Hannity
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Calling it “a hostile outlet for facts,” President Trump has shuttered nearly all operations at Voice of America, accusing the 83-year-old news agency of being “way too radical” for global viewers.
“Foreigners don’t want to hear about poverty and protests,” Trump said. “They want strong news. Patriotic news. Sean Hannity news.”
Under Trump’s new media directive, any reporting broadcast outside U.S. borders must be personally screened and approved by Hannity, who has promised to replace VOA’s entire global feed with “timely updates on Trump’s greatness—plus weather.”
Sources say Hannity’s first international broadcast will be a 44-minute monologue explaining how America is thriving, the economy is perfect, and the January 6 protesters were “just passionate citizens.”
“Sean knows the real America,” Trump explained. “He’s strong, loyal, and never once asked me a tough question. That’s journalism.”
On Friday, all VOA employees were placed on leave, instructed to return government-issued laptops and let go of “any lingering optimism.”
“We’re restoring trust in American media,” Trump concluded. “By making sure it only comes from my friends.”
