Trump Now Targeting Civil Groups: “I Don’t See My Name on Any of the Buildings”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump continued his effort to punish everyone who’s ever made him feel mildly annoyed, announcing Thursday that civil society groups may lose their nonprofit status for “acting like they’re better than me.”

“If these groups are really helping America,” Trump said, “why haven’t they named a single building after me? Or at least a cafeteria? Even a bench. Nothing. Very disrespectful.”

After pressuring law firms and universities into submission, the administration has now shifted its attention to watchdogs like CREW and environmental nonprofits, accusing them of “weaponized community outreach” and “dangerous amounts of ethics.”

“They call themselves charities,” Trump scoffed. “Where’s my charity? Where’s the charity for the guy who made America great again and got indicted for it?”

Critics warn the move is another step in dismantling civic institutions. Trump allies say it’s “just a long-overdue crackdown on groups that don’t serve the administration’s interests.”

Insiders say Trump’s definition of charity now includes “loyalty, applause, and generous donations to MAGA Inc.”
