Trump on $400M Qatari Jet: “I’d Be Stupid Not to Accept a Bribe This Nice”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump brushed off mounting backlash Monday over his decision to accept a $400 million luxury jumbo jet from Qatar, telling reporters he’d be “stupid” to turn down such a generous bribe.

“I mean, I could be a stupid person and say, ‘No, we don’t want a free, very expensive airplane,’” Trump told reporters. “But I’m a smart person. Smart people like free gold toilets.”

The jet, originally customized for Qatar’s emir, comes complete with a gold-plated interior, private cinema, and “room for at least four McDonald’s kiosks,” according to officials. It will temporarily replace Air Force One before being transferred to Trump’s presidential library, which he says will be “part museum, part casino, part plane.”

Critics from both parties have called the gift an “open purchase of influence,” noting the administration appears unconcerned about potential security risks.

“There’s nothing dangerous about a free plane,” Trump countered, adding that Democrats were “just jealous they didn’t get one.”

Administration insiders say Trump is already asking if Qatar can throw in a matching yacht “to really round out the collection.”
