“We Just Do What Trump Tells Us To Do”: ICE Defies Federal Judge, Deports U.S. Citizen Anyway

ALABAMA — ICE officials confirmed Tuesday that they deported an American citizen to Laos in direct violation of a federal court order, explaining that “the President’s wishes are a higher priority than the law.”

The deported man, Shawn Souvannarath, had been a naturalized U.S. citizen for more than forty years and was protected by a restraining order from a federal judge. ICE agents acknowledged the order but said “it didn’t sound like something Trump would agree with.”

Inside DHS, officials described the move as “routine obedience,” saying it was easier to ignore judges than risk an angry post on Truth Social. “You have to understand,” one employee said under condition of anonymity, “Trump yells louder than the courts…”

Asked whether they were concerned about contempt of court, one senior agent shrugged: “We’re not here to think. We’re here to comply… with whatever Trump wants, I mean.”

The ACLU of Louisiana called the deportation a “stunning violation of law.” ICE responded by clarifying that “law” is a flexible term, meaning “whatever the President says it is.”
